Looking after ourselves

Re: self care -- Food, Salt , Sugar , Water

Checking in @Adge to see how you are going on your healthy eating front.

Re: self care -- Food, Salt , Sugar , Water

Hi @Former-Member

I always eat plenty of vegies, with a bit of fish or something vegetarian.

I don't eat much junk food, so not much issue there.

The main issue is that when very tired, which is actually quite frequent - I lose any apetite.

I can hardly get myself to eat what I've cooked, so I virtually have to force feed myself.

I suspended my healthy eating this afternoon, & went & got fish & chips instead.

Very tasty, high in kilojoules, maybe not so good in other aspects...

Re: self care -- Food, Salt , Sugar , Water

@Adge  for you healthy eating is quite different to what is seen as the norm. Enjoying fish and chips = 😀

Re: self care -- Food, Salt , Sugar , Water

hello @Former-Member

learning game here still

finding I am better if I eat more veges and less meat

eating more fish and chicken is good

I won`t be making "devilled sausages " again -- wow my gall bladder and hiatus hernia played up big time

the kidney specialist and the Endocrimologist are both happy

but my diabetes is still high at night time , might need more insulin

eating less carbs is good

Hello @Adge , @Ali11 , @Appleblossom , @Janiee

Re: self care -- Food, Salt , Sugar , Water

Nutrition is so important, isn't it? The latest studies around gut microbiome and how it affects emotions are really fascinating.

Devilled sausages are a childhood favourite @Shaz51, sorry to hear they impact you in a negative way!

Re: self care -- Food, Salt , Sugar , Water

yes and when you have to cut diwn on sugar, carb, protein, potassuim and others @Ali11 makes it tricky but getting there @Former-Member

Re: self care -- Food, Salt , Sugar , Water

I think I did already pay for it @Shaz51 Immediately after eating it.

Although it could well have been due to something else that I ate, earlier in the day.

My tummy has been queasy all day.

Re: self care -- Food, Salt , Sugar , Water

Potatoes are one of the big causes
