Re: Carers under 30...
Hi @outlander
At one stage we got some business advice and were told that the best way to run things was to copy plans like Maccas use. Essentially to tackle things as you would if you went into the office.
1. Write down everything that needs to be done, how often - perhaps ask for Pop's input as to what he expects.
2. Make a job description, list the jobs, when they are to be done and who does them (even if it is you). This could include things like bed linen changing/ laundry days, banking/shopping days, house cleaning schedule, bin nights etc. If down the track if Pop gets help with my aged care, names on the 'who does what' can be changed.
3. Have a weekly, fortnightly or monthly planner (whatever works for you) to put jobs and appts on.
This might help with whatever problem you are having 😀.

Re: Carers under 30...
Our day's been pretty good @outlander. Spent most of it hiding from the heat, went out with our two adult sons to go swimming at a local lake late afternoon, then ate dinner with them before meeting Older Daughter coming home on a train from an appointment.
Hoping you've got results about your foot by now, and hoping it's good news?

Re: Carers under 30...
@Smc your day sounded lovley!
Drs werent so great yesterday and after her contridicting herself twice over i decided to get an opinion from a physio.
I am glad that i got an opinion from the physio. she actually listened and done a proper assessment. after close to an hr of discussing everything shes decided the boot was the best option, showed me how to take on and off properly, the ins and out of it etc. plus given me a few other instructions like a few exercises to keep my foot more limber, and continue to ice it. She has also asked that when my foot has healed abit more (which to heal properly for bone bruised can take up to 3 months but a boot wont be required more than around 2-4 weeks) she would like to do an MRI and maybe some other tests on my ankle due to the injury i had previously never healing properly due to ignorant drs.

Re: Carers under 30...
@outlander It is great you persisted and found a good physio.
Reading between the lines in a clinical appointment and not being too passive about health care is important. At least you have a good plan and realistic expectations.
Bodies are so complicated, we need the specialists. Its a process...
Take good care of you and pop.

Re: Carers under 30...
@outlanderThe difference is getting proper treatment. It makes it easier to deal with pain or issues when you know you are on a route to healing.
Yes. I am alright. Not needed prn yet. Taken son to his appointment, went to post office and library. We are having a meeting later. Sad and low energy vibes but no problems. I am grateful for that.

Re: Carers under 30...
Sometimes that is as good at it gets ... for those moments ... yearning for more ... or demanding that things be positive when they are not ... is often unhelpful.
There are times when we can "snap out of it" or "put on a face" (cosmetic or emotional) for work or circumstances ... but at times life is just sludgy ...
I had chat with lady in libary ... her joke .. is ... "I am stomping around, pushing down the daisies ... which is better than pushing them up" ... its better for oldies ... but still a bit edgy and funny ...

Re: Carers under 30...
Ohh @outlander I hope it the right thing to have said... to you ... what makes some people laugh can distress others ...
she started off by saying its ... better being on top of the ground than underneath
that saying is about taking an extreme to the point of ridiculous ... the worst case scenario ... being dead ... and buried ... providing manure to the soil ... and pushing up the daisies ... she is walking ... on top of the ground and not scared to tread on the flowers ... which we all love and normally avoid standing on .... in a sense its a statement of being spirited ... despite it all ... to take the NEXT STEP without fear or worry about what is right ...
Does that make sense?
Not sure if it is helpful .. maybe its a "one-liner" better for oldies.
Can you see the funny side?
I hope you are alright too.
