Hi everyone, I'm back... kind of. Feeling pretty bleaugh, so I'm still in my "keeping a low profile" stage of return.
How's your self reflection/future planning assignment progressing? I get how hard that can be. I realised a while ago that I was finding it hard to make any plans beyond what was immedialtely in front of me, because so often whatever plans we did make had to be abandoned due to the many unplannable MI and other incidents happening. After a while, planning starts to feel pointless, or even scary. Is good to hear that you're pulling some helpful stuff out of the process.

I love that tea set in your picture @Faith-and-Hope Whatever those small desserts are in the cups, they look very tasty...
Are they little sponge cakes?
I haven't had a hot chocolate (the title of this thread) in a very long time.
I did have some Thai Green curry paste (from the bargain trolley) on my vegies a few days ago - that was very tasty.
Unfortunately there are no Thai restaurants or cafes near me...

Me too @Adge @Smc re Thai food.
We had a bad experience with the family one day though, where we ordered a dish that was described as medium hot, but it was much hotter than medium hot we had had anywhere else, so we asked to have a little extra coconut milk to cool it down for the younger kids, and they took offense .... refusing to give us the extra coconut milk, and effectively telling us off for having ordered something medium hot when it was obviously mild that we were after.
We ended up getting up and leaving the food there uneaten because it was too hot even for me, and I can stand fairly hot food. We might have just re-ordered, but their lack of customer service was so off-putting it was upsetting. Unfortunately that put the family off Thai food.
I love green Thai curry though, and will often order it - medium hot - whenever I find it on a menu.

Hello @Former-Member - Waves back...
Yes I understand, that would really put me off going there too.
I've had some bad experiences at restaurants & cafes over the years - though I now haven't eaten out much (rarely) over the past 7 years.
The Thai restaurant people need to understand that most Australians are not used to hot curries, or at least not as hot as they can make it.
I like hot curry too, but I once over-did it. I ordered a hot Thai Grren curry about 15 or 20 years ago - & had sweat dripping down my face as I ate it, because it was so hot...

I was very influenced by SE Asian cuisine when I was 20 so my children were brought up on my Aussie adaptation of Thai, Malay and Indonesian food. Mostly we eased them into it. My ex loved hot curries so he wanted to test out kid's stomachs, I would only go as far as mild, and stopped buying chili sauce as I got heart burn from it during my pregnancies. However I love the essential flavours and meals.
I also had great convo wih a Malay princess from one of my choirs. She loved that I wore traditional fabrics from her country. She encouraged me to convert to coconut milk powder rather than using a whole can as you can greatly reduce the quantity but have it regularly.
My last 2 months have been over the top busy artsitic and crazy with family stuff. I need to get to bed and try and settle.
Cheers ALL
