Re: Taking the plunge

@Appleblossom  Yes being older and much slower, makes moving extra hard. I haven't got too much stuff, but it means I'll have to buy a fridge and washing machine, I sold mine to come here. Back to the nils loans.

I feel like I'm back to my earlier years, we had 10 moves in 12 mths, very few belongings, but moving for young or old is unsettling.

Sorry you've been triggered. You know you are a treasure on this forum don't you??????

The book is a good read. Making a lot of sense to me. He talk of other mental disorders also and how inflamed bodies equals inflamed minds.

Good to see you here too. Always like seeing your name pop up.

Happy new year..💕💜💕💜

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi dear @Maggie.  Waves to @Zoe7 @Shaz51 @Appleblossom @outlander and others who pass through here.

And a happy new year to you too @Maggie.  I really hope that 2019 brings with it a sense of security and belonging for you.  A simple long-term abode which is comfortable and meets you and your little Maggie-May's requirements is not a lot to ask.  Fingers crossed that something suitable comes up soon for you.  I'm glad you are able to see some positives in needing to move from where you are.  I'm sure there are benefits in being where you are too, but if you need to go, then its great that you can see some good in that too.

I am very happy to hear you acknowledge your achievement regarding your regular walks with little Maggs.  That is a very worthwhile achievement and not to be scoffed at.  You're doing well, and I hope you are able to continue that.  Where ever you end up.

Your counsellor is a gem.  How nice that, even while on leave, she still gives you a weekly phone call.  I'm impressed Maggie.  Clearly she sees all the good in you and the wonderful person that you are.  She genuinely cares for you, and I think thats right and admirable.  You are very worthy of the care she provides to you.  You are a wonderful human being, and one who deserves all the good that life can possibly provide to you.

The books sounds like a great and very interesting read. Inflamation in the body is a real problem, the cause of so much disease and illness.  It makes perfect sense that it can also affect our minds.  Speaking of inflamation, my mum suffers terribly from rheumatoid arthritis, as did her father before her. The last year or so, I seem to be getting many of the typical symptoms of the disease myself as well.  I hope not, but I may need to get it checked out.  It starts in the smaller joints such as fingers and toes.  Yep got that.  Then shoulders and knees. Yep got that too.  Sigh.

Umm yeah Maggie, 28 is pretty hot for down your way  We have been getting mid 30's for the past week.  Mostly between 33 and 36C.  And humidity with it the past 2 days, which adds to the stifling discomfort.  Oh yes ... bring on winter!  I wish.

Thanks for the warm thoughts Maggie.  Yes even in this hot weather, warm thoughts are still much appreciated.

Kindest to you, and much love.

Sherry 💕🤗🌺

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member Thankyou, such kind words. I think my counsellor can see good full stop. She has a care for human sufferings, and works hard with everyone she sees. We are lucky to have her in our city.

Yep, tick all the arthritis boxes here. Sorry you are feeling the onslaught. I'm going to see a specialist about mine, all getting too painful. One of the reasons I've decided to leave here. Costs of Drs. Once I pay for my glasses I'm already afraid I won't have enough rent money. I don't need that kind of stress, no one does. So, on we go to the next address. People are already saying " Where do you live now?" Lol.

Anyway, I'm going to have to front up to lunch today, I've missed many days lately and I can see question marks on people's faces. Let the mumbling begin. Ohhhhhh!!!!!!

Re: Taking the plunge

@Maggie

Just saying hello.

Smiley Happy

Wishing you and @Former-Member the best for the New Year.

Some of those places are very expensive, and having some spare money for little treats can be good. I had a look at some villages for myself, but thinking I should stay where I am.

Who is Maggie May named after?

I was going to share the pop song by Rod Stewart to cheer you up, but listened to it and thought it did not have the right feeling.  There is also the old folk tune.

Re: Taking the plunge

@Appleblossom Maggie May is named after the song by Foster and Allen. Me being Irish and all, thinking it was a good Irish name, turns out to be Italian I think. Irish to the backbone.!!!!!

There are some cheaper villages @Appleblossom unfortunately they have long waiting lists. Might be an idea to research in your city.

They say money doesn't make the world go round, but it sure does help.!!!!!

Hi @outlander@Zoe7

Re: Taking the plunge

Money sure does help @Maggie - especially as things are getting even dearer. I would like those government members who dismiss the cost of living to actually live on what some have to and see how they cope!

Re: Taking the plunge

I did not feel right in the villages. @Maggie

I looked at 3 around my area. They were too new and shiny.  I am also not the best socially though everyone was nice. I am weird. Maybe I will look again later in a couple of years after son has flown free.

Glad I listened to my instinct re song.  These lyrics are much better. Not about a spoiled man complaining about not getting enough.

Re: Taking the plunge

@Appleblossom I'm much the same re people being nice me feeling weird. Socially I'm finding it challenging, ( putting it nicely ). Unspoken expectations, imagined or real, are hard to live up to. I know these past three weeks when depression hit rock bottom, I've been unable to put on a mask, even momentarily, I sense, again imagined or real, to get over it. How I wish I could. MI is so very very difficult/impossible to live with.

You are sounding a little under the weather, though I might have that wrong. Sending lots of these 💕💜💕💜🐾💜💕💜💕💜 I know they change nothing, but hope thy bring a smile.
