Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

It is good to hear and encouraging that you have found healing for yourself and renewed love for mr Darcy. Seeking and drawing on some devine mercy and grace to enable the same in myself.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

I wish I could tell you it will get better @Determined but we both know that is not the case. What I know is where there is love and faith there is hope and I hold onto this defiantly.

Hindsight is not always 20/20 vision, we tend to think if we had done things differently that all would have been well but we don't know what the alternative would have been.

You need things too Bro, how to balance this is something you need to work out, self care it is not only for you, but for your darling and your boys.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Oh my goodness @soul

We - who give so much of ourselves do get hurt the most - it is true - I have found this in my own life

But I do not think we can love anyone too much - especially our children

We love as much as we can even when it has to be Tough Love

We give without enabling bad behaviour

We help whenever we are able

But we are careful about how much we trust

I know - I felt for a long time I over-invested in my son's life - but now I know - uh uh - I have all I could and I do not regret it.

But I do know how much you hurt - I truly do - but no way should we become less of a person - I suppose each of the sentences there has a caveat - maybe that never enabling a person's bad behaviour is part of self-control and survival

I don't know your story but I wish you the best
