Re: Community Guides - who they are and what they do!

Hi everyone ☺

I'm CheerBear (or CB as some people call me). I came across the forum during one of the toughest times I have faced and I found/continue to it an incredibly valuable source of support, understanding and connection. I am often inspired by the people I meet and see here, the stories shared, and the struggles and challenges faced and overcome. I love the warm fuzzy feelings I get here too 😊

I too live with PTSD, major depressive disorder and anxiety and I am also a single mum. I have three incredibly awesome little people (fish) - a big fish, a clown fish and a puffer fish, all who are in primary school.

Looking forward to continuing to get to know everyone and to meeting lots of new people too!

Re: Community Guides - who they are and what they do!

Hi all you wonderful Forumites,

I came to this site when I was partnered with someone who had severe mental issues that impacted on me in a very traumatic way. I felt like I had entered a whole new world and the Forums helped to educate me whilst providing support and companionship in a safe and empathetic way. I have also been through several other difficult family events since joining. .

I identify with both the Carers and the Lived Experience Sides. I feel like I have come a long way but there are times that get me down. I live with my daughter, a dog and a bird. I enjoy walking (a lot) and yoga.

I try to see the beauty and goodness in everything and everyone.

Re: Community Guides - who they are and what they do!

To all the new & continuing Community Guide-lovely to have you on board.

@Appleblossom @CheerBear @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member @PeppiPatty @Phoenix_Rising @Queenie @Shaz51 and @soul

Thank you everyone for your congrats to me. Unfortunately I'm having to live up to my creed of practising self care today; I've had a mini meltdown. I'm really dissapointed in myself as I really wanted to participate in Topic Tuesday, and I'm proud of myself for attaining this post, I just can't celebrate right now. Hopefully I'll be back to a bit more cheerful tommorow. I'm sorry.

Re: Community Guides - who they are and what they do!

No worries @Sans911

We are still allowed to be people even whilst being CGs.... at least I hope so @NikNik ???

None of us can meet all the needs of potential posters so it is good to have a team of different people with unique melt down points and triggers.

Congrats to all new CGs.

Hope all the retiring CGs enjoy stepping back, but so glad we have found a way to honour your time devoted to the forum and the up & down journeys most of us experience.

Hope you still hang around as I get fond of people easily .... Heart  Selfish of me.

I have been on the forum for over 2 years and identify as a person who has struggled with mental health issues.  The diagnoses have not been clear, maybe one day ...

I have also been in the carer role for different family members from childhood til now.

Mental Health has become a passion for me.

I feel I have found some of my tribe here on the forum.

Re: Community Guides - who they are and what they do!

Hello everyone,

It's me, you know...@PeppiPatty.

Oh, I just read @Sans911.... @Sans911 thats fine, we in it together. I have had a long break from the forums...I began the forums at the beginning and this is the first time I had a long break..... I've found that the days which you have a little melt down become frequent sometimes and other times, it's okay.......I'm so glad that your here.....

@Appleblossom Always happy to see you honey......  @Former-Member @Queenie

Likewise my special friend @Shaz51 @CheerBear @soul (yay!!) @Faith-and-Hope (yay!)

How are you all? I am 50 years old in four weeks so you can think that I have done half of my life.....turning 50 is absolutely awesome.

I am a carer for my beautiful husband Mr G and we went to high school together ...in YEar 8 to 12....aww. I have found it very difficult to deal with caring lately.

I also have two sons, one who is struggling with Psychotic episodes and working out what medication he wants to take and feel conmfortable with.

The younger one has had some difficult medical issues to deal with.

My early supporters, with my main carers, my Mum and Dad is awful to say the least.....it's a little twisty even though I am 50 because my Mum and Mr G's Mum are friends and they are always hinting who is the illest out of their us .......As Mr G struggles with Chronic Paranoid Schzophrenia and I've had my time with having had a head injury......

Hope to see you soon xxxx

Re: Community Guides - who they are and what they do!

Hi everyone .... 🤗👋💕

My entry point to the forums was through Carers about 18months ago .... tricky family issues going on for me, but it's a walk in the storm, holding back the tides of situational depression and treading water to try and keep us all afloat ..... learning that -

Have found the most amazing people here, treading water along with me, just because they can .... forum friends, as they are to me fondly now .....

Welcome, one and all .... I hope you quickly settle into a comfy, or at least familiar place here, and know that you are not alone .....
