Baby Emus are gorgeous @Bunniekins
The Father (Daddy Emu) raises the chicks on his own.
The mother abandons the nest, after she lays the eggs.
The male emu incubates the eggs (sits on them) until they hatch, as well.

Hi @BlueBay
You definitely didn't spoil anything! You are struggling, and when someone is struggling it is so important thay they talk about it and get support. I just wanted to ensure you are safe.
Please do the very best you can to look after yourself; whether that be sleeping or anything else that could help.
Kindest Regards,
Amour_Et_Psyché
