Night Shift

Re: Night Shift

@Billamba It is a fine line and our ideas about these things sometimes change over time, as they have with me. I'm 53 and have a partner of 12 years. Lots of wild days when I was younger and did get myself into bad situations that have left their mark.

Re: Night Shift

@Billamba Thanks for the chat tonight, I'm going to try for sleep now. Hope you can get some rest soon too, have some sweet dreams and wake up feeling good in the morning. Cat Happy

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Kate70
Not sure if you accidentally posted or changer your mind 😉 but thought I'd say hi! And ask how are you?

Re: Night Shift

I thank God that. I no longer do night shift, or the classic double shift....from 1430 hrs until 0715 hrs. Rarely, had a proper meal break, but thankfully gallons of coffee, although it was really HARD to get to the loo.

i am recovering from a nasty cough/ cold with the head lifting coughing and the cough incontinence. I have been sleeping a lot and consequently being awake at around 0300 hrs. I was bitten on the foot by a cross cat as I was tossing and turning. I have used sleeping pills in the past, there was one that weird me out...there is a note never ever prescribe it to me again. I generally read or listen to the night, fabulous when it rains, I drop off very easily, howling gales make me snuggle up.

Re: Night Shift

@Neb Sorry about your cough, hope that clears out soon. Hard work with the shifts. I worked best in afternoon/evening shifts.

My mind has often felt active at night in a creative way and I like the quiet overnight too, listening to it and being awake in it. But I also want to be sleeping then for mental and physical health reasons so I'm trying with pulling back on the extreme late ones. Hoping to get myself to bed before midnight...

Re: Night Shift

Well, I didn't manage sleep until about 2.30 or 3.00 last night. And today my developing daily routine has taken it hard. Couldn't get going at all on first waking so went back to bed and didn't get up again until 12.30pm, my latest rising for about a month now. Have done almost nothing all day so far. Trying not to let one lapsed day get me down too much. In any case I still could get going and improve over the day, and I will try again for an earlier night tonight. Hope everyone in SANE land is travelling okay today...

Re: Night Shift

Hi @eth. I'm on the night shift too for now.

Re: Night Shift

It's pretty ironic that I'm doing this and reading a bpHope article on the importance of sleep managment at the same time!  But I'm wide awake and slept a lot last night so I don't think it's a problem.  It's just past 11.30 here - not that late really.

Re: Night Shift

Lol. I know what you mean. Just after midnight here. I am trying to get to bed before midnight most nights but Friday night I give myself a bit of leeway (and some other nights too if I can't sleep).
