Re: The Walking for Wellbeing Thread

I like the quieter areas to walk also @Mazarita. That’s why I prefer the early morning especially on the weekends when there’s less hustle and bustle. It’s good to get out instead of being surrounded by four walls.

Keep it up!

Re: The Walking for Wellbeing Thread

Morning @soul @Mazarita ... 💕

Sorry, I fell asleep last night in the middle of reading your post, which is frustrating ... lol ..... cos I was looking forward to a quiet catch-up with you ..... maybe not-so-quiet ..... think I was snoring .....

Yes Maz, I love walking, and it's important for me that I do, cos that's my drawcard. I find it hard to commit to something without putting my heart into it, but thankfully, I find things to appreciate about almost all aspects of my life, even what has happened to my husband. There are things he has learned through this experience that I can recognise as positive, despite the overall trauma of our situstion, and the grief and losses involved.

I know if our outcomes can be life/changing in a positive sense, and restorative, that will overwrite our struggles to survive through this stage.

That faith and hope also drives my walking. I feel that I am walking towards a better future somewhere in our future.

NB: F&H long-winded way to say "Yes Mazarita, I do ..... " 😆

Re: The Walking for Wellbeing Thread

Yesterday's effort

6264 steps (5.2km)  got 15 min into a planned 1hr walk and it started raining 😡 more frustratingly stopped raining 5 mins after I got home. Was only a passing shower. May as well have kept going but didn't want to risk getting too wet as it would take very little for me to get sick with how run down I am.

Still happy with that effort. 😆

Re: The Walking for Wellbeing Thread

Todays effort only 1800 steps but I did do 30m on the cycle trainer

That was much harder than I remember lol

Re: The Walking for Wellbeing Thread

Managed to bump todays effort to 3080 steps.
Went for a quick walk to the end of the road and back. 1km total.
Not much but only doing 1800 steps was annoying me lol

Re: The Walking for Wellbeing Thread

Lol - I read that as being 30 metres on the trainer at first. Thirty minutes iof cycling is a great effort. I used to use the treadmill and exercise bike a lot when the kids were young and I couldn't head out on my own. Also good if it rains.

Today I did my usual walks - 15 033 steps. A little less than it probably was as I was wearing shorts without pockets so wasn't carrying my phone around at home.

Keep walking everyone. Kids settled back at school @Determined?

Re: The Walking for Wellbeing Thread

LoL @soul 30 metres would be a sad effort. Avg speed on the trainer usually over 27 and cadence should be over 65 those averages were dismal. Almost stopped after 5 min but refused to give up. So out of shape at the moment.

S1 home today with gasto, teacher called mid morning yesterday to come get him causing some anxiety on my behalf. Had to leave uni shortly after getting there to work on assesment. He's hoping to go tomorrow but Im not convinced.

Re: The Walking for Wellbeing Thread

Getting on the bike is a commmendable effort @Determined.Hope S1 is feeling better and doesn’t spread the germs throughout the rest of the family.

Re: The Walking for Wellbeing Thread

S1 & S2 both home today with up tummys @soul
Work day for me so Darling has all 3 grumpies to herself. Wait and see how that goes 🤔

Re: The Walking for Wellbeing Thread

Yikes @Determined. Try to push it from your mind. Can you hide somewhere? At uni?
