Re: What is your motivation to continue
I just answered a similar question on another forum, which I’ll shorten even more here (I could write an essay but I’m pretty drained) but I said:
a) My 16yo daughter
b) My spirituality

Re: What is your motivation to continue
..anyway..
Things will get better, and/or I'll get better at things. Like coping. Accepting. Being accountable even if to myself. Trying to care.
Soz for butting in

Re: What is your motivation to continue
It is unfortunate that you feel ridiculed by family and society. If you need someone to have a chat to please call Lifeline on 131114.
What motivates me is that I tell my stories to the next generation of society. School Students. When socialising I have had to be patient and let the individual talk about their topics and make them feel comfortable and then slowly direct the conversation back to me. Been patient with people is challenging.
With family I don’t overwhelm them with everything. I give small amounts of information over time. I try not to over traumatise my family. When I deliver my lived experience to carers they can feel overwhelmed by information. I have regular frequent contact with mental health professionals to talk freely about my issues.
I created a routine. It took time to know that not everyone was not looking at me. I go about my business doing things like shopping, activities, and work. I have learnt to ignore people and learn when to pick my battles to fight when people are out of line. There will always be those that are indifferent.
What motivates me is to stay well. To live life to the fullest regardless of my limitations.
I know this all seems exhausting and at times even I find it exhausting but that is when I go and do my own thing like play on the computer, read a book and listen to music or go shopping. I take time out from everything.
