I was wondering, what are your theories on “the cause” of your anxiety? Today there are countless theories as to the genesis of anxiety. Early trauma, an overactive amygdala, low levels of certain chemicals in the brain and a handful of genes have been implicated. I think that one of the smartest things they ever taught me at uni is that most things are multi-determined. So there are likely to be a few things in play. I wonder if people relate more to the early trauma, or simply troubled family life, or with the biological aspects to the condition?
We had a great discussion in the Forums recently about the impact of one on the other.
