How can I face my fears?

I broke up with my boyfriend a few days ago and now I get so scared everytime I think he's close by. I want to disappear if I hear a voice like his or spit someone with a similar haircut. I'm just so scared to look him in the face knowing that I drove him away and that I've hurt him so much even though I am aware of the fact that it was beyond my control. It's like a never ending nightmare but it's too late to wake up. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get over this fear of facing my deepest regret(hurting him) face to face?

Hi Abigail

Thanks for getting in touch with the forum. Hopefully someone will chat with you a little later to help you through this difficult time. Theres usually not much activity overnight.

Exes can seem to be everywhere after breakups. I ve rarely actually seen one unless went out of my way to contact them. Perhaps write them a letter @AbigailCoop Then either burn it or deliver it . It might hurt now but you will get over it

It was the best I could come up with at 4am or whatever well you were hanging there @AbigailCoop 😀

Re: How can I face my fears?

@AbigailCoop I would say... respect the reasons you went your own way, stick to your decision, and know that you don't need to explain anything to anybody. Some people don't respect a persons free will to make their own decisions for themselves because it's not what they had in mind for the individual. (Which is wrong) then they try bartering with emotional treats & manipulation (which is even more wrong) the fear you are experiencing may never go away. And i think it's there for a reason. As long as it's a healthy fear. I wouldn't worry about it to much. Deal with it another day.
